Es Grau

Es Grau Menorca

Located towards the North East coast of Menorca, Es Grau is great for couples for numerous reasons. It’s beautiful in nature, with a great beach and crystal clear blue sea. Some great areas to walk and just north of the capital, Mahon so if you want a late night you can heard the Mahon harbour for a few drinks. Alternatively, Es Grau is great for families thanks to it’s golden sandy beach, shallow sea waters and proximity to Mahon.

Es Grau Overview

es grau menorca
Es Grau Menorca

Firstly, when you arrive in Es Grau you’ll notice it’s a very traditional Menorcan village, unlike some of the tourist spots around the island. Unspoiled, secluded and a large population is made up of locals. Very minimalist with it’s offerings. A small supermarket, a few bars dotted around and a waterside restaurant serving up some traditional Mediterranean dishes.

The main attraction, other than witnessing a traditional town is Es Grau beach. Similarly to the town, the beach of Es Grau is very beautiful and untouched, yet there’s enough space for all. The shallow and calm water makes it perfect for pedalos and kayaks, which can be hired from the water sports hut towards the centre of the main beach.

The beach can be reached by the various car parks in close proximity or on foot from village or through the S’albufera park.

Es Grau Nightlife

As previously mentioned, Es Grau is a traditional village. This means the evening entertainment isn’t as plentiful as Ciutadella or Mahon (Although Mahon is closer of the two). You’ll find three bars and one restaurant within the village, but you’ll be sure to find a local or two chatting away whom you can practise your Spanish on.
