Alcaufar Menorca Overview

Playa Alcaufar

The Menorcan resort of Alcaufar was originally a fishing community and still prevelant to this day with many fisherman’s boats going in and out with the catch of the day, adding to its charming nature. Beautifully calm clear waters provide great walking spots along the rocky coastline.

The beach area is great for younger children. With its shallow, clear waters, gentle waves and fine golden sand they’ll be happy here for hours. The shallow waters and rocky patches make it great for snorkeling, with fish congregating around these rocky patches.

Overlooked by small cottages, traditional Menorcan houses and fishermen’s boat houses you’ll be sure to take some idyllic and gorgeous photos.

Alcaufar is only a short drive to the larger town of Sant Lluis, which has a lot more supermarkets, shops, bars and cafes. While the capital city of Mahon is only around 8-10km away.

The nearby resort of S’Algar have larger hotels. However, S’Algar has no beach so a courtesy bus will take S’Algar guests to Cala Alcaufar. During the higher season, be sure to have day visitors here that swell the population during the day.
